ESL FILM QUIZ – B1+/B2: THE PERFECT DATE
Films offer entertainment, listening practice, exposure to different varieties of English and a real expansion of up-to-date vocabulary. Here is an ESL film quiz for your teen students at around B1+/B2 level to think and speak about issues like university, apps, dating and love in our modern ages.
THIS IS A QUIZ to do while watching the film ‘The Perfect Date’ (available on Netflix).
The quiz is divided into 5 sections. Students need to read the questions to each section, then watch the film until the marked minutes/scenes, in English – preferably without subtitles at this level. They can answer to the questions (e.g. on their mobile phones) while watching the movie.
At the end, they can get immediate feedback on their answers by clicking onto SUBMIT.
Before watching the film, you might want to introduce a class discussion about university asking your students: Do you think that it is important what university you decide to go to? Why (not)?
After the film, you can expand the topics in further class/group/pair discussions or you might rewrite some of the dialogues of the film with your students.
As a follow-up homework, ask your students to write a first version of their university application letter, explaining to their readers who THEY are.
