Description
This bundle offers materials (lesson plans & worksheets with and without the answers) to discuss three topics:
- ESL Lesson Plan: Describe Paintings – Virtual Museums & Vocabulary in Art (A2-B1)
This lesson plan revises useful expressions to describe a picture (a photo or a painting), goes through prepositions of places and expands the topic to ‘art’.It refers to a TED-ED video-quiz (How art can help you analyze by Amy E. Herman – customized) and a TED Talk (Building a museum of museums on the web by Amit Sood). The materials can be used with A2-B1 students, but also to revise picture description at B2 level. It also offers further (more advanced) listening tasks and an interesting discovery tour into digitalized art.You will receive:
– a lesson plan (pdf-file)
– three interactive worksheets (Google forms) to discuss target vocabulary and to follow while watching the TEDTalk. - An Unconventional LP – Christmas in a Different Light (B2)
This is an unusual lesson plan about Christmas, suitable for Advanced (B2-C1) teen or adult students: it consists of a variety of speaking tasks, a longer article to read from ideas.ted.com and also a TEDTalk to watch. The aim of the lesson is to discuss Christmas in an unconventional way: instead of discussing consumerism and myths&legends, here students can exchange ideas about 2020’s very odd Christmas experience in lock-down and a very positive talk from 2014 given by Jose Miguel Sokoloff explaining how Christmas might open up people’s mind even in war-torn places. You will receive three pdf-files:
– a lesson plan with all instructions and
– two versions of the worksheet (Students’ version without answers and Teacher’s version with the answers). The materials are plenty for a 90-minute lesson. Students need to read an article before the lesson (flipped classroom).See a SAMPLE PAGE here. - TED Lesson: ‘How The Mysterious Dark Net is Going Mainstream’ (B2-C1)
This lesson plan is inspired by Jamie Bartlett’s intriguing TEDTalk given in London in 2015: How the mysterious dark net is going mainstream. It offers a glimpse into the world of the so-called dark net and makes possible predictions about why everyday Internet-users might choose this type of internet or at least browsers using encryption over the more common browsers. The lesson plan aims at B2+ level students and focuses on technical marketing and IT-language.The lesson plan (pdf-file) and the four interactive worksheets (Google forms) offer plenty of materials for two 90-minute lessons with young adult and adult students.
MIND: All materials are Google Forms or shared Google files, which you will need to copy onto your Drive. These lessons are interactive lessons, ideal for online courses.
