INTRODUCTION:

First of all, check out this amazing website for worksheets, materials, activities for YL  of any age: EDUCATION.COM. The worksheet described in this post comes from their website and many thanks for this lovely activity.

WORKSHEET:

Teaching small children (2-4 year old super kids), I had the opportunity to try this (and similar) exercises from EDUCATION.com. The task is simple, you ask them to colour all clothing items that people wear in winter. Mind, you might need to explain that winter means, it’s very cold (I live in Sicily). So my instruction was: What do you put on when it’s very cold, brrr? (and I mimed freezing cold). Since small children might lose interest quickly, you might need to prompt them going through the clothes one by one: Do you wear flip-flops in winter? NO. Do you wear shorts when it’s cold? NO. Do you wear a coat when it’s freezing cold outside? YES. Ok, then colour it red. etc.

NB: The exercise also revises colours and included a guided colouring exercise which is the last listening exam task in Cambridge Starters, Movers and Flyers exams.
