B1 Question-Answer Drill Task: Indirect questions

Type: peer interview (6 pages in PDF format to be printed and cut up into cards + one page with the instructions)

Target language: indirect questions, reported speech

Description of activity:

Students work in pairs. They get a set of direct questions and ask each in turns, but instead of using direct questions they transform them into indirect ones, starting with:

- I’d like to know…

- Can I ask you…

- I was wondering…

- Can you tell me…

There are 108 questions to choose from.

The activity can be expanded to a practice session after teaching reported speech (see instructions in the file).
